Self-Love & Motherhood: Loving the Good, the Bad & the Fugly

Self-love isn’t all sunshine, rainbows, and unicorns. It’s more like a ninja warrior obstacle course: you don’t know what hurdle you’ll face next, daily practice is essential, and you’ll probably need to call in some miracles along the way (hence the mantras, crystals, oracle decks, flower essences, Jedi mind-tricks, and ceremonial cacao right?).

Why? Because we need to learn to love the good, the bad, and the fugly aspects of ourselves, including the icky-awkward-embarassing ones we’re ashamed of and keep hidden. Yes, those ones.
Not many of us are willing to really go there, which is why I’m excited to introduce you to the wise, compassionate, and funny Monica Pelayo.

In this powerful interview, Monica peels back the layers on Self-love and Motherhood and shares the secret to receiving and giving more love in every area of your life.

Monica is a certified integrative life coach, experienced shadow work expert, and mother of two. She’s been a student of A Course In Miracles for over two decades was personally trained in the work of the Shadow by Debbie Ford.

Monica believes that our purpose in this life is to become whole again. Her mission is to guide women to embrace their whole self by finding the gold behind the Shadow – the part of us we’ve been hating and hiding – so we can bring this into the light and shine brighter.

  • Suggestions for moving beyond self-sabotage, guilt, and self-judgment

After the most recent shadow process Monica has taken me through (she’s amazing!), the shadow that came up most prominently for me was Fury.  Kind of awkward… and basically everything I’m not… or is it???

I’m building up the courage to share the insights from my dance with this shadow (including how it affected interactions with my family and how I was showing up in my business) so stay tuned for more on this in a future love note.

In the meantime I’ll be vibrating the mama mantra Monica shared.  Will you join me lovely?

2. Claim |  Try out one of the simple practices that Monica shares in this interview.
